Submission Guidelines

Articles and Stories

Hatch Magazine welcomes article queries and submissions.

If you would like to contribute content to Hatch, please get to know the various sections of the site, and the different types of articles and content we publish.

The best way to submit article queries and stories is by email.

If you are sending a completed story, DO NOT send it as an attachment in your email, as we will not be able to respond to these submissions. Instead, paste the text of your article in the body of your email.

You should also include a brief description of your article -- including what type of article it is (Hatch accepts features, profiles, Q&As, commentary, humor and humorous works of fiction) and what section of Hatch you see your article appearing. Also, please tell us a bit about yourself -- your writing background, why you are qualified to write the story you've submitted -- and, if possible, please email samples of your writing (web addresses or samples pasted in the body of your email -- no attachments, please).

Please include your email address and telephone number in your query.

We will only accept one article query per email message, but feel free to send multiple inqueries (no more than three per month, please).

Hatch Magazine discourages simultaneous submissions to other publications. If you choose to do so, however, we ask that you be upfront about it.

We make our best effort to respond to all inquiries, and try to do so within two to four weeks of their submission. If you have not heard from us after four weeks, please assume that we were unable to accommodate your submission.

Comics and Cartoons

Hatch Magazine welcomes submission of comics and cartoons. Editorial cartoons, one-time comics and serial comics are all accepted.

The best way to submit comics and cartoons is by email. But please, DO NOT send your work as an attachment in your email, as we will not be able to respond to these submissions. Instead, please provide links to URLs where your work can be found. If this is not possible, please contact us to make other arrangements for us to view your work.

You should also include a brief description of your comic or cartoon. And please, tell us a bit about yourself.

Please include your email address and telephone number in your query.

If you would like to submit your blog to be considered as a link on the Hatch Magazine Web site, or would like to suggest another person's blog to be considered, please submit the following information through our Hatch submission form:
